Wow is F2W busy! This past Saturday, F2W sent out teams throughout Anderson, SC to “...demonstrate God’s love by people serving people.” People from all over Anderson came together to make this day a success. Pope Drive Baptist Church sent a group of hard working youth who not only helped at the Hospice House of Anderson but got dirty working in the yard of an elderly widow. Ms Katie Lee was so appreciative and after praying with her she said, “I just have to hug each one of your necks!”
Another volunteer team, led by David Norris, assisted Anderson Interfaith Ministries by building a much needed deck on one of their women’s shelters. This deck will allow the women using the home to monitor their children as they play in the home’s playground.
If all that was not enough, another team of awesome volunteers, led by Dan Cunningham, spent the afternoon assisting Mrs. Linda and her husband with home repairs and yard work. From weed eating, repainting her home, to installing smoke detectors, these volunteers worked tirelessly at demonstrating God’s love to this wonderful woman who is suffering from terminal lung cancer.
And there was more. Throughout the week teams worked at other homes in Anderson and went back to Morningside Park. August in Anderson, WOW! And guess what? There is more to come this week, so get on board or get out of the way! F2W is, Faith in Motion. – Ike Boyette
