F2W got back yesterday from an awesome trip to Bay St Louis, Mississippi. This makes over a half dozen teams that F2W has coordinated in the Gulf Coast to assist those devastated by hurricane Katrina. We just can’t slow down!
Working again with the City of Bay St Louis, we targeted projects and individuals that were affiliated with the city government and its employees. Unfortunately, these individuals and projects that make such a difference for the community are often overlooked.
This small team completed a total of 8 projects! Projects included: Finishing sheet-rocking a home for a city employee, yard work for needy and elderly individuals, and lawn maintenance for city parks, city hall, and a city graveyard. We were truly busy during this trip. But never too busy to put down our tools, stop working, and speak with strangers about their life during and after Katrina.
I learned a lot from the team members on this trip. The guys I was with were serious about spreading God’s love through their actions AND through their words.
By our actions and our words, what a concept!
A special thanks to all those who continue to make these trips possible. F2W has a special surprise for you coming at the end of this year! – Ike Boyette
