MS Trip - 102506
Journal ID #42
Wow, wow, wow! God continues to blow me away! I just got back from Bay St. Louis, Mississippi with a group sponsored by Whitefield Baptist Church in Belton, SC. This group of godly, dedicated men, set out from day one to make a difference for some of the victims of hurricane Katrina. And what a difference they made!-------------------- The group completed two projects. At first you might say, “Only two?” But what if I told you these two projects consisted of framing up houses? That’s right! For the first project, these guys completely framed in the interior walls for a retired couple located on the river. The couple's home was completely destroyed and unfortunately not covered under insurance. Ed and Linda were so thankful for all of the work and prayers offered by the group.-------------------- The second project consisted of framing a house up to the second floor. This massive project was for a couple with three kids and two children whom were just placed in their care by the state. Jeff and Melissa completely loss their house to the storm and have been working on their new home all by themselves.-------------------- While talking with one of the volunteers, Carlton, I was reminded how awesome and how truly humbling it is to be used by God. Think, he could restore, complete, fix... whatever he needed to all on his own. He does not need us. But chooses to use you and me! And I am not sure about you but that is the greatest feeling in the world. And this past week, he chose to use a group of faithful men in a mighty way.-------------------- A special thanks goes to all those who made this trip possible. F2W has a special surprise for you coming at the end of this year! – Ike Boyette
