I am not a huge numbers and statistics fan (if my high school math teachers see this they will overwhelmingly agree). I believe that sometimes, especially in “church” type organizations we can get focused on numbers. And then we begin to compare ourselves to others. This in turn leads to defining the “success” of God upon the higher numbers. And of course this is wrong. I don’t believe you can put a number on the complete work of God. However, I am also not ignorant to the fact that numbers are important and necessary (my teachers may actually be shocked that I said that). While they are only a snapshot of the entire picture, statistics can safely be used as a guide to measure one’s progress. We see this concept in the Bible, namely Acts, showing us the growth of the church. So here at F2W we use numbers as an internal guide, not to brag, boast, or compare. With that said, and acknowledging that all the glory and honor belongs to Him (the BIG man upstairs), here is the 2006 Review:
I am blown away at what God allows me to be a part of. It is so awesome to watch Him work. Most days I find myself simply trying to hang on. If F2W excited you in 2006, guess what, you haven’t seen anything yet! Get ready because this year F2W... Ike Boyette |
