Dear F2W Family Member,

It is 2007! Wow! As F2W begins its second year there are a few things left to wrap up from 2006. Financial reviews, archiving paperwork, backing-up files, etc, are to name a few. But the most important thing is the official notification and thank you to our wonderful sponsors.

For weeks I have thought about this letter. What do I say? Do I write a generically spiritual thank you; you know the “typical letter” from a faith based organization giving thanks? As I sit trying to place my emotions into words I remember, we do not serve a “typical” God. F2W is not a “typical” organization. And you are not just a “typical” donor. So, from my heart...

You are receiving this letter because you chose to monetarily support F2W in 2006. How do I respond? The uber-spiritual response would be, “Well thanks but it was not your money, it was God’s.” Or the always Christian, “Thank you but your gift was not given to mere men but to God.” And while each of these statements is true, the point remains; you made a decision to donate “your” money based upon the relationship you have with F2W. That is very personal. And I take your decision to invest in F2W very personally.

I am in awe at what God has done through F2W in 2006. It absolutely blows my mind. He has used a bunch of misfits to accomplish so much. And it is because of you that this organization is able to fulfill its mission of, “Single-minded pursuit of demonstrating God’s love through people serving people.” (Yes if you caught that I called you a misfit! Why? Because you are part of the family!)

Enclosed in your thank you packet are a few things. First, you will find your 2006 giving statement. This is needed for your tax returns; if you believe it is in error please contact our office immediately. Second, you will find a F2W pocket calendar and a wafer of wood. Your piece was cut from a large branch of driftwood that washed ashore in Bay St. Louis, MS during Hurricane Katrina. Please accept these gifts as a small token of our appreciation.

You have made such a radical difference for many people in 2006. Directly through your generosity, many lives have been brought closer to Christ! I do not have the words. So very humbly and from the bottom of my heart, I say thank you and God bless.
