12 churches, 200 campers all gather for a three-day youth camp held last April 23-25 at the grounds of Masinloc Christian Academy with the theme "Changing Our World One Soul at a Time". A successful event I claim as a great victory in spite of many challenges considering the place, built as a school, was not quite ready to hold 200 campers. Since I first learned that I was entrusted to direct such a big event there were questions that wandered my mind. How can 200 young people fit to sleep in a building that has only six rooms? Where can we get water to supply the need of 200 young people each taking two baths a day? And where are the bathrooms and restrooms? How can we feed 200 young people three times a day for three days with each paying a fee of only $5? The answer for 200 young people became very simple... one God! Bed spaces were made ready literally all over the place, food was served well, water was supplied, games were played, God’s word was preached mightily, hearts were challenged, and bathrooms and restrooms? You don't want to know. Months of preparation paid off just to see the tears in their eyes not wanting to part themselves too early. When they went back to each of their churches I got a lot of calls from Pastors sharing what a difference the Camp made to the young people. Truly God is great. Someone whispered in my ear "Pastor Melo, when are we doing this again?" I smiled and answered him..."Coming Soon."
